Post-Doc - H.Puccio Team

Reference : POST DOC H.P.

Offer publication : Jan. 13, 2012

A 3 year ANR funded post doctoral position, starting early 2012, is available in the laboratory of Dr. Helene Puccio under the supervision of Dr. Karine Merienne at IGBMC in Strasbourg. The project aims at investigating the mechanisms implicated in the instability of trinucleotide repeats (TNR), the causative mutation in several genetic diseases, including Huntington’s disease (HD) and Friedreich ataxia (FRDA). The project will focus on the study of the interplay between transcription and epigenetics in TNR instability by combining molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and cellular (iPS cells) and mouse models.

Profile

The candidate will benefit from an excellent work environment, including various state-of–the art research facilities at IGBMC (http://www.igbmc.fr/index_uk.html) and international collaborations. The candidate must be highly motivated, autonomous, and have expertise in molecular and cell biology. Prior experience in epigenetics and/or transcription and with animal work would be an asset. Skills in bioinformatics would also be a plus factor. ?
