A Post doctoral position on cancer epigenetics is available at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (Illkirch, France)
The team aims at understanding the epigenetic underpinnings of renal cell carcinomas, through integrative analysis. The team recently developed projects based on genome-wide characterization of alterations affecting SWI/SNF complex and long non-coding RNA in different renal cell carcinomas subtypes, including renal medullary carcinomas. We focus on the identification of novel pathways that are associated with genome-wide epigenetic reprogramming in this context. Mechanistic data obtained using the in vitro and in vivo models will be leveraged using human primary tumor samples already collected through national and international collaborations.
The project will be developed at the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology, an institute focusing on functional genomics. In France, it is the largest research unit, involving the Inserm, CNRS and the University of Strasbourg. In addition to its four scientific programs, the IGBMC has developed advanced scientific services and technological platforms for internal use, but also open to the wider scientific community. The Institute aims to develop interdisciplinary research at the interface of biology, biochemistry, physics and medicine, but also to attract students from around the world by offering very high-level education in the field of biomedical sciences. The IGBMC campus is located on the “Parc d’Innovation d’Illkirch” in the Strasbourg suburbs, which represents an exceptional scientific, academic and industrial environment and largely favours collaborations and technology transfer. The institute provides an exciting, interactive scientific environment and hosts, and has access to well-equipped modern technological platforms. The position is available from December 2019 for 2 years and will involve multiple in vivo and in vitro approaches and biochemical, imaging and molecular biology techniques.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Molecular biological and biochemical assays in vitro, in cell culture systems and
in vivo models
- A young and highly motivated team, integrated in international collaborations
- Excellent multidisciplinary team for scientific work including basic scientists, physician-scientists and bioinformaticians
- Access to state-of-the-art technologies
- Many-faceted, varied work: From experiments to applied bioinformatics
- Basic science with clinical relevance
Applicants should have a strong background in epigenetics in particular chromatin remodeling and/or long non coding RNA, with previous work experience in molecular biology and biochemical analysis.
Candidates should send a curriculum vitae with a publication list, a short summary of research achievements and mastered techniques in English, and the names and email addresses of at least two references to Pr. Gabriel Malouf (email@example.com ).
