Elisabeth Georges-Labouesse has passed away
July 23, 2012
We are very sad to inform you of Elisabeth Georges-Labouesse death on Saturday 21st.
CNRS research director, Elisabeth has largely contributed to a better understanding of integrins and extracellular matrix proteins during embryogenesis. More recently, her team has studied mechanisms responsible for the organization and maintenance of epithelia such as skin and intestine, and how disruption in these processes can lead to cancer. Elisabeth has always actively contributed to the life of the institute and to the whole biology community, getting involved in the Animal House or the PhD programme committees. In addition to her virtues as a researcher, we will also remember her charming personality, as well as her kindness and gentleness.
At this painful moment, all our thoughts are for her close relatives, her husband Michel and her two daughters, Céline and Marie.
