Peptide synthesis

This facility performs custom-made modified or non-modified peptides, in order to meet the needs of IGBMC research teams and external clients. Equipped with an ABI 443A synthesizer adapted to Fmoc chemistry, it produces up to 200 peptides per year. Crude peptide products are purified by reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), which separates compounds according to their degree of hydrophobia. They are next carried through a liquid (mobile phase), in a migration column containing a cluster of resin balls (stable phase). Final products with a purity degree of 95% are controlled and characterized with HPLC and mass spectrometry.
