Technology transfer
Licences & patents
Since 2009 the IGBMC has primarily relied on the expertise of the University of Strasbourg to deal with intellectual property issues resulting from the research work conducted at the Institute. The University of Strasbourg is one of the French universities the most strongly implicated in research development and technology transfer. In particular, in 1996 it set up the Conectus Alsace© structure, a shared network which brings together all the players in public research in Alsace and promotes the development of partnerships with companies.
Direct marketing
The IGBMC has already demonstrated its ability to directly manage technology transfers. The Imaging Centre has notably developed a fluorescence macroscope (MacroFluo™), as well as a confocal macroscope (Macroconfocal Leica TCS MSI) which have been commercialised worldwide through a partnership with Leica Microsystems signed in 2007.
The monoclonal and polyclonal antibody production service has been solicited for many years by external companies. Currently, it commercialises more than 200 different antibodies for industrial clients such as Euromedex, Millipore and Active-Motif.
