Unveiling the Origins and Regulatory Logics of Developmental Tumours Using Drosophila
(Updated)
Cédric Maurange investigates how the co-option of developmental programs underlies the initiation and regulation of early-life cancers. To do so, his team takes advantage of a “simple” Drosophila model of pediatric brain tumours that recapitulates a well-characterized developmental program whose aberrant regulation drives tumour hierarchy and growth. He will describe how an approach combining image analysis, 3D in silico simulations, and targeted genetic perturbations has revealed the self-organising principles that govern CSC dynamics in these tumours.
