Train in an environment of excellence
One of the main missions of the IGBMC as a world-class biomedical research centre, is to train students in the biology of the future. With an excellent training environment, the Institute today hosts 250 students and post-docs from 40 different countries. About 20 masters and 25 PhD students integrate the Institute’s research teams each year.
Most PhD students are recruited via the Doctoral School of the University of Strasbourg, which coordinates the monitoring of students and the thesis graduations. Since 2007, the IGBMC has developed its own of doctoral student recruitment program: the IGBMC International PhD Program. It has now gained an international renown and has helped attract students of a very high level.
The IGBMC also hosts regular workshops. These conferences organized around the world enable young researchers to interact with experts on a specific theme.
