Mouse Clinical Institute

The Mouse Clinical Institute (ICS) is a specialized infrastructure in translational research and functional genomics. Founded in 2002 by Pierre Chambon, the ICS has been headed since 2010 by Yann Hérault. The services offered range from the generation of mouse models to high-throughput phenotypic analysis. These services are open to the entire academic and industrial scientific communities.

The ICS is part of the INFRAFRONTIER network, one of thirteen European initiatives for infrastructure projects in biomedical research approved by the ESFRI network. In twelve European countries and in Canada, the initiative brings together the best research structures in the areas of systems phenotyping, archiving and distribution of mouse models.

For the French part of INFRAFRONTIER, the ICS is also a laureate of the "National research infrastructures in biology and health" project call in the context of the Investments for the Future. The PHENOMIN project led by the Institute will give rise to a national infrastructure, specialized in the development, analysis and conservation of mouse models. This project associates excellent teams specialized in mouse genetics in Strasbourg, Orléans, Marseille and Villejuif.
