A close relationship with industrial partners
The IGBMC is historically based on very strong industrial partnerships. Bristol-Myers-Squibb (BMS) notably financed the construction of the building in 1994 and supported research conducted at the Institute to the sum of about 3.5 million euros per year until 2002. The Mouse Clinical Institute (ICS) has also established an important partnership with Merck, who have already invested more than 20 million euros in 6 years. In addition to these large-scale contracts, many research teams have obtained contracts with pharmaceutical industries such as Wyeth, Sanofi-Aventis, CellVir, etc.
