Congratulations to Guillaume Davidson on the acceptance of his thesis!

Brèves |

Congratulations to Guillaume Davidson for the acceptance of his thesis. His work was directed by Gabriel Malouf and titled: "Exploring the roles of cell plasticity and tumor heterogeneity in renal cell carcinoma: implications on development, progression and response to immunotherapy".

Credits : Théo Brisset, IGBMC

During his thesis, Guillaume Davidson studied clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) through single-cell RNA-sequencing and spatial transcriptomics. With his work, he showed that ccRCC cancer cells are capable of epithelial-mesenchymal plasticity and that a population of undifferentiated and invasive mesenchymal ccRCC cells cooperate with myofibroblastic cancer-associated fibroblasts for invasion, metastasis and resistance to immunotherapy.

During his time at IGBMC, the PhD student was able to develop skills in cutting edge technologies such as data analysis for single-cell RNA-sequencing and spatial transcriptomics.

Thanks to our Genomeast platform for providing their help with sequencing and insightful discussions about data analysis. As a bioinformatician, Guillaume Davidson also heavily collaborated with Alexandra Helleux, from Irwin Davidson’s team.

Thanks to ARC Foundation, Ligue Nationale contre le Cancer, l’Institut National du Cancer et la Région Grand-Est for the support they provided.

Guillaume Davidson will continue with us for a few month as post-doctoral researcher to finish his project and supports others projects involving bioinformatics!
