The IGBMC is a joint research unit affiliated to the CNRS, INSERM and the University of Strasbourg (UMR CNRS 7104 - UMR-S 1258).

The Institute is directed by Patrick Schultz, Director of the UMR IGBMC and Deputy Director of the GIE CERBM. He is assisted by Françoise Lagriffoul (Director General of Services).

The scientific activities of the Institute are structured into four research departments and the technical resources are organised into three major technical platforms.
