Alumni Unistra: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Cutting-Edge Research
On February 27, the IGBMC opened its doors to several members of the Unistra Alumni Network, led by Agnès Villanueva (Director of Alumni Relations), for an exclusive visit to the Physiopathology of Neuromuscular Diseases team, headed by Prof. Jocelyn Laporte.

🎓 The Alumni Unistra network is a dynamic community of over 55,000 members - graduates, students, PhD students, staff (active or retired) - united around the University of Strasbourg. Since 2012, it has been promoting mutual support, experience sharing and professional connections.
The meeting began with a presentation of the Institute and its research into muscular dystrophy, led by Johann Bohm, a researcher on the team.
Participants then delved into the world of applied research through three innovative projects:
- Therapies developed on mouse models for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (Thomas Arbogast)
- Repositioning existing drugs to treat certain myopathies (Charlotte Gineste)
- A cutting-edge approach to gene therapy using nanoparticles (Eva Lipkov)
The visit continued in the laboratories with the discovery of a state-of-the-art microscope, before concluding with a convivial moment of exchange with the researchers.
📅 This is just the beginning!
Other visits are planned. Join the Alumni Network to make sure you don't miss a thing.
