This donation is the result of the solidarity initiative “One Customer, One Euro,” enthusiastically carried out by the Life PINK association and Nicolas Rieffel, in partnership with Movember and several engaged local organizations:

🔪 The Alsace Chefs Federation
✂️ The National Union of Hairdressers
🚗 The Alsace Automotive Trades Association
🍽️ Les Étoiles d’Alsace

Over the course of a month, these partners successfully united their communities around a vital cause: the fight against prostate cancer, the leading cancer among men in France.

A day of sharing and awareness

On the occasion of the check handover, researchers welcomed representatives from the Alsace Automotive Trades Association for a tour of the laboratories and an engaging discussion about their work. This event also served as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of regular screening starting at age 50.

In the Grand Est region, the issue is particularly pressing: around 51,000 new cases are reported each year—4% above the national average—with nearly 8,700 deaths annually.

Accelerating research, improving treatments

The Metzger-Laverny laboratory is currently exploring new ways to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment effectiveness. One promising research area focuses on the role of vitamin D in enhancing chemotherapy response.

Thanks to this donation, the team will be able to go further, faster, with the hope of making lasting progress against a cancer that affects thousands of families every year.
