Missions

The project is centered on the understanding of the molecular mechanisms involving Mediator complex in transcription and transcription coupled repair and the consequences of identified pathogenic variants of Mediator subunits. This project developed in tight collaboration with expert biologists and clinicians aims to characterize Mediator complexes and consequences of the Mediator subunits variants as well as to identify proteins deregulated. The position requires the applicant to purify and reconstitute complexes for functional, biochemical and biophysical studies and for structural characterization by structural mass spectrometry and/or X-ray crystallography or cryo-electron microscopy.

Profil

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a PhD in biological sciences (preferably in biochemistry or structural biology) and should have a strong background in biochemistry, purification of recombinantly expressed proteins and biophysics methods. Experience in structural mass spectrometry and/or cryo- electron microscopy would be a plus.
